A TRIBUTE TO MIKE STANWELL

Mike Stanwell was my best mate at school. He became a teacher (and a good one) in the Catholic system. He realised bad things were happening and 'blew the whistle' on a couple of priests. Unfortunately, like so many whistleblowers, the fight took a huge toll on him, and he paid the price. 

I gave a eulogy to Mike at his funeral, which was published in full in the Newcastle Herald. Mike is one of my heroes.
